Left: Grey before trim. Length from coronet to end of hoof is over 25cm. Pony frequently "crossed feet" when walking.

Right: Pinto before trim. Severely overgrown. Unable to trot without tripping. Note that there was some evidence of mechanical laminitis in some of the feet.

 Results

Both Ponies are now doing really well, they will be gelded soon. After recovery, they will be ready to be placed with their foster homes. The RSPCA will need to approve the release of the ponies but we are sure the new owners will do the right thing by these little stars and make sure they never fall into the same condition again.

 Farrier Service

Our farrier service is unique in that it is located on our property in Northam, in the picturesque Avon Valley. We provide farrier care to all types of horses including hacks/pleasure horses and ponies, performance and competition horses, stallions and brood-mares, yearlings and race horses.  Dobbin's Day Care

Dobbins Daycare was developed from client demand. Rising fuel and vehicle costs meant inevitable price increases. To keep costs down, several clients suggested we work from home. So now they bring their horse to us, leave it (and the float) whilst they go shopping or have appointments and collect the shod or trimmed horse on their way home.
